Water Harvesting from Air

Water

Project Description

Harvesting water from air, new materials are being created that capture water from air, even at very low relatively humidity, in order to provide clean drinking water in remote places where water is scarce.

Challenges

The team is currently developing new MOFs for energy efficient water harvesting at low relative humidity (RH)

Methodology

Criteria for Achieving High Performing Porous Materials for Water Adsorption:

  1. Condensation pressure of water in the pores
  2. Uptake capacity
  3. Recyclability and water stability of the material
